Cannabis Sales Down From Holiday Highs in Arizona
As reported by David Abbott in The Arizona Mirror, January 2022 sales totaling $51.3M in medical cannabis and $63.8M in recreational cannabis highlight a marked decline in overall cannabis sales for Arizona – bringing sales totals back to lows not seen since the first month of legal recreational sales. Despite that drop, sales tax revenue for the same period was slightly more than $10M, with excise tax on recreational sales adding an additional $11M.
